Amelia Vick
Amelia's yoga journey started when she was about 12 years old. Oddly enough, the first time she ever practiced was with her sister while she followed along with a class on FitTV, a channel she got for free sometimes with her satellite TV subscription. At the time, she did not know why, but she knew she felt so much better after practicing yoga. Since then, her practice has transformed and grown in so many ways. She came to understand that yoga was never just about the physical practice. She learned that our mat where we practice is a mirror of life and there are a multitude of lessons to be learned through asana. Yoga offers her a medium to strengthen her body and mind, enhance coping skills, and provides moments of silence to dig into the depths of the soul. For her, yoga has been the sole constant in her life. It has always been there and will continue to be. She hopes to share this gift yoga gave her with you too.

Beginners and all levels welcome!

Jill Birt

Jill hails from a family with a long line of healthcare providers so naturally, she has always been drawn to health and wellness. She began her career as a Registered Nurse and was first drawn to yoga when the needs of family, career and wellness became hard to juggle. Yoga was a way to knock out physical exercise and rest in 1 quick hour. Over the years, the demands of working in healthcare and raising a family, began to wear her down. Anxiety and depression crept in and after reaching in many directions looking to regain clarity and strength she surrendered into yoga as a means to healing.

She realized that yoga offered the kind of true healthcare she had set out to share when she chose the path of nursing. Yoga is so much more than a physical practice, Jill discovered those good feelings she kept coming back for were felt much deeper than just her muscles. She is awed by the ability Yoga has to infiltrate into any one person’s life in a way that is unique to them as an individual while simultaneously creating unity among many. She arranges her classes and offerings with this principle in mind. Leaving space for individuality along with intentional guidance through movement, breath and spirituality.

Vicky Hill
Vicky is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher who has been studying Iyengar yoga since 2000. Her practice and teaching draw on Mr. Iyengar’s insight that the physical practice—the asana—is much more than physical. He wrote, “Even in simple asanas, one is experiencing the three levels of the quest: the external quest, which brings firmness of the body; the internal quest, which brings steadiness of intelligence; and the innermost quest, which brings benevolence of spirit."
Vicky also offers tips and thoughts on asana and the yogic path via the Instagram account austin_iyengar_yoga, which she launched in 2018. In her off-the-mat life, she has a Ph.D. in American Studies, taught at the university level for two decades, and has two delightful adult children.
